A CREATIVE SEMINAR FOR MANDOLIN PLAYERS 11 - 17 AUGUST 2025 IN VADSTENA, SWEDEN
The seminar will be held in Vadstena, one of Sweden's most beautiful towns by Lake Vättern 11 - 17 August 2025. The course is an inspiration course. It leads to being able to perform better at your concerts where you play solo or chamber music.
COURSE FEE - ACCOMMODATION, CULTURE AND TOURISM
Course fee € 250 euros. Students half price € 125 euros. Food and accommodation are not included. You will find great hotels, hostels, apartments, camping sites, monasteries, cathedrals and other interesting cultural buildings as well as swimming beaches in and around Vadstena.
PURPOSE OF THE COURSE
The course is aimed at those who play / sing, or want to play / sing in concerts as a soloist or in a chamber music ensemble. We prioritize solo playing and chamber music from Baroque and Classicism.
DARE TO PLAY SOLO
The course is especially good for those who play well but don't really dare to play solo at a concert. We address questions about solo playing, stage presence, stage fright and teach important methods to better cope with a performance. We bring out your best talents, stimulate your artistry and musicality in positive terms.
WE DON'T INTERRUPT YOUR PLAYING - WE LISTEN
We never interrupt your playing. We listen until you have finished playing or singing your piece of music and give good advice and tips afterwards. We don't use styluses and we don't find fault, but take advantage of and encourage everything you're good at. We dare to promise / guarantee that you will be a happier concert artist after this course.
WE BELIEVE IN YOUR ABILITY
We think you have a good technique and enjoy your own playing / singing. We don't poke at your technique. We work with your self-confidence and develop your stage presence, your musicality and your artistry.
WE WANT YOU TO FEEL CONFIDENT IN YOUR PERFORMANCE
The course is aimed at talented amateurs, students and professional musicians who want to play solo pieces, sonatas, ensemble music and solo concerts with a smaller ensemble. We welcome the following instruments and vocals: Mandolin, mandola, lute, guitar, recorder, oboe, viola da gamba, cello, bassoon, soprano, mezzo-soprano and alto. If you are interested in the course but play another instrument or sing in a different voice mode, you are welcome to contact us first, before submit your application.
WE GIVE YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY IN THE VIVALDI FESTIVAL
We can accommodate a maximum of 8 mandolinists, 2 mandola players, 2 guitarists or lutenists and 4 flute players. For other instrumentalists a few persons per instrument / song. You will have the opportunity to perform your pieces at our concerts in churches and castles during the Vivaldi Festival of Sweden, after completing the course.
HOW TO BUILD A CEMBALINO D'AMORE OR AN ORGANETTO
After completing the course, you will receive drawings and information on how to build a cembalino d'amore and an organetto. Maybe your grandfather or best friend can build you an instrument. Those who want will also receive building instructions, tips on how to write a basso continuo part in MuseScore, as well as tips on building materials and decorations that can be ordered online.
FUN WITH SMALL "ROBOTS"
Camerata Mandolino Classico has performed 100s of concerts with cembalino d'amore / organetto between 2022-2024 and has made a great success with these instruments among audiences and professional musicians and singers. We usually use real harpsichords / organs when they are available in churches and castles. Otherwise, these little instruments are perfect for transporting in the car, bus or train, not to mention how much fun it is to play at home at parties and birthdays etc. These instruments are also perfect practice instruments and you can easily practice a new repertoire before your concerts with these small "robots".
IN THIS COURSE THERE WILL BE A LOT OF MUSIC & PLAYING
Below you can read more about the cembalino d'amore and the organetto and how to play, practice, prepare, play a long and print out the sheet music, etc. It is good if you practice a lot on the repertoire below before coming to the course. It will be so much easier for you to get more out of the course. Please choose your favorit music from the suggested repertoire:

Dear Mandolin and Flute Players!
HOW TO PLAY WITH AN "ACCOMPANIST" ON MP3-FILES?
Here is something for those who like to play mandolin or flute pieces with an accompanist! Music by Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart and Beethoven among others, for mandolin / flute and harpsichord or organ.
We have a super strong passion for live music and concerts. Our passion lies in playing, collaborating with other musicians, organizing concerts and festivals and we love chamber music. We also love to inspire people to play chamber music, do marketing and arrange concerts with the mandolin, flute involved.
SOMETHING FOR YOU, TOO
Therefore, Lars Forslund have developed a fantastic system to be able to play music at a high level, when our harpsichordists, pianists and chamber musicians are not available. It is also a super effective way to prepare and study the music before the first rehearsal begin with, for example, a harpsichordist. Then you already master your part of the music in detail at the first rehearsal and so you do not tire out a professional or talented accompanist with too many interruptions and retakes.
NICE ARRANGEMENTS COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE
Therefore, we want to share, completely free of charge, our nice arrangements for harpsichord and mandolin / flute to you who like our website and our videos on YouTube, and to you who love to play sonatas and chamber music with an accompanist. As soloists, we play more than 50 concerts annually and some of these concerts, we perform with the cembalino d'amore (harpsichord) or the organetto, or both instruments.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Here on the website you can read about how the software and the concept works. See more on the video about the cembalino & organetto project below. Because we love baroque music, we have made harpsichord and organ parts for various mandolin sonatas and trio sonatas for flute, mandolin and basso continuo. If you start an mp3-file with "play along" function, here on the website, it takes about 10-15 seconds before the harpsichord or organ starts playing, so you have time to settle yourself down, and then the harpsichord or organ plays a small introduction at half a bar or sometimes 1-2 beats. The harpsichord or organ always starts first, so you have time to count the beat. In the software we have put rubaton, ritardandon and tempo changes so it becomes a living accompaniment. For example, a repeat can be a little more intense and increase the tempo a little bit, just as it often is at a live concert when the musicians get a little bit more excited.
USE YOUR MOBILE PHONE, MP3-PLAYER, TABLET OR COMPUTER
So you should connect your mobile phone, mp3-player, tablet or computer to a pair of good speakers or headphones and then just play the music directly from this website or our YouTube channel. With speakers, you can also play for your family and friends or at weddings, parties, concerts in churches, castles, museums and libraries, and more. Let your imagination run wild about how you can use the mp3-files. Of course, you can also record the music and post your own recording on YouTube. You can use and download the files for free and you don't have to pay for copyright. The files are free. However, if you use the files for commercial use, it is necessary that you or the concert organizer report the performance to STIM in Stockholm, Sweden or GEMA in Germany or equivalent in your country.
EASIER TO UNDERSTAND
We recommend you to watch the YouTube videos about "Play along", than it's easier to understand the concept. When you play along on our YouTube channel, you will find the sheet-music in the video. For the mp3-files and the sheet-music, you can print, download or use it directely here on our website. For some of the music by Beethoven and Mozart you should use your own sheet-music or download from IMSLP. You can also see below how we use the mp3-files for 9 different concert programs for mandolin and cembalino d'amore (harpsichord). It's also nice when we get a response in the form of a standing ovation from an enthusiastic audience, which happens quite often, even though we are playing on a virtual harpsichord. People are very impressed when modern technology meets 300 years old music from the Baroque era.
Good luck with your music making.
Best wishes!

& French Baroque Music
Music for the soul - Musica
per lo spirito
Music for mandolin and harpsichord by Johann Sebastian Bach and Antonio Vivaldi. This program is truly balm for the soul, heavenly beautiful and incredibly sonorous.
Slow and beautiful - Langsam und schön
Meditative music for mandolin and harpsichord by Johann Sebastian Bach. The most beautiful slow movements from sonatas, scores, harpsichord concerts and suites, as well as "Jesus bleibet meine Freude" by Maestro Bach.
From Versailles to the
French Revolution
Music for mandolin and harpsichord by harpsichord masters Jean-Baptiste Lully, Francois Couperin, Jean-Philippe Rameau and Jean Frédéric Edelmann. Wonderful swinging French baroque music with a lot of drama and timbre. The dangerous and exciting lives of these French composers were filled with drama in 18th - century France, ideologies and upheavals. Fantastic music but horrific history. The music was written during France's great power until the French Revolution.
& Beethoven / Wiener Klassik
Masterpieces from 18th
Century Vienna
Believe it or not, but the great Master Ludwig van Beethoven wrote The "Moonlight Sonata" and The "Pathetique Sonata" for harpsichord and also sonatas for mandolin and harpsichord. In this program, adagio from the "Moonlight Sonata" and The "Pathetique Sonata" and sonatas for mandolin and harpsichord, as well as music by Joseph Haydn and the genius Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart are performed. A wonderful classic program.

A fantastic and authentic Baroque sound
OLD MEETS NEW
The concept of sound & design, is based on the Baroque sound, and design ideal, in the encounter with the absolute latest, of our time, in digital technology. A happy meeting. It is fascinating when two eras meet, and the result is exceptionally good.
DESIGN FROM THE 1720S AND TECHNOLOGY FROM 2020
Here, 300 years have passed between the innovations, and today these ideals fit like a glove.
THE NEW FANTASTIC TECHNOLOGY IN THE SERVICE OF THE BAROQUE MUSIC ERA
The new mini amplifier Yamaha THR 5 A for acoustic plucked string instruments, together with the software programs: MuseScore, Reaper, Kontakt and the sampling program Berlin-Harpsichord, and the wireless microphone plugs from Boss, means that new and old can be combined at the absolute highest level with a sound result beyond the ordinary. The baroque music sounds fantastic and varied with exuberant resonant sounds from the 18th century.
Camerata Mandolino Classico
In the concert program "Music for the soul", a “cembalino d'amore” a small harpsichord with resonant strings, with a typical French, Baroque painting, in gold, red and black, meets a master mandolin, built by the skilled Italian, mandolin builder, Maestro Pandini from Ferrara, Italy. Wonderful sounds, and vibrating resonant strings.
Baroque & present
This is also, where a new Yamaha THR 5 A, a tiny amplifier, specially built for acoustic guitars, and the sampling program, Berlin – Harpsichord, from the German technology and computer company, Orchestral Tools, meet. The role models in design, and sound, for both Lars Forslund, and the technicians, at Orchestral Tools, have been French and Italian harpsichords, from the 18th century.
