This workshop 29 April-3 May 2023 is separate from the Mandolin Festival In Venice 3-7 May 2023,
but planned so that you can combine both events easily if you want to.
A Playing Workshop for Plucked String Ensemble
with Keith Harris in Venice 29 April - 3 May 2023
If you play the mandolin, mandola, mandocello, guitar or bass, make a dream come true, and come and play wonderful music, under gentle and expert direction, in Venice, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. We start making music in Venice at 2 pm on Saturday, 29 April, and finish with an in-house concert at 4 pm on Wednesday, 3 May, 2023. The Venice Mandolin Festival 2023, in Venice starts a few hours later.

ABOUT THE PLAYING WORKSHOP WITH KEITH HARRIS
It’s a special feeling to play music in Vivaldi’s home town, and to cross the same bridges and cobblestones - and sail down the same canals! - that were his everyday environment too. And considering the famous music he wrote for ancestors of our present-day instruments, if you play an
instrument like the mandolin or guitar, it’s even more special. This is a PLAYING workshop, so the main purpose is to simply enjoy playing great music together. But it's also a WORKSHOP, which means that we have the time to talk about the music and the instruments, try things out, and ask interesting questions - probably even about Vivaldi and Venice.
Saturday 29 April: 2 pm (14:00) - 5 pm (17:00). Opening and first playing session. Evening free.
Sunday 30 April, Monday 1 May and Tuesday 2 May:
9 am (09:00) - midday (12:00) Workshop. Lunch break. 3 pm (15:00) - 6 pm (18:00) Workshop.
Wednesday 3 May: 10 am (10:00) rehearsal. 1 pm (13:00) afternoon break. 4 pm (16:00) concert.
WORKSHOP FEE:

The fee does not include transportation, accommodation or food and drink.
